The building was originally planned as an 80-unit rental but the design was changed 2 times while being already in the process of construction. In spite of that, the building was successfully completed in under 26 months. The first change was made when Salvation Army approached as a potential renter and the building was converted to 117 units (from original 80) as per new requirements. Later Salvation Army backed out of the deal and the building was converted back to 80 units (including but not limited to changing all rough plumbing, rough electrical, rough framing and ducts). After the building was converted back to 80 units Highland Park Community Development Corporation (HPCDC) signed a letter of intent and the building was converted again to 117 units as per original specifications from Salvation Army.
